Outsights, Inc. typically takes one of two approaches when engaging with clients: teaming engagement or project engagement. The teaming approach assumes the customer participants will be integrally involved in a core team in various capacities, including business leader, technology architect, lead knowledge champion, lead adoption champion, and communication lead; however, Outsights will provide a Program Lead. The Outsights lead will ensure all decisions are appropriately balanced between urgency of the business and strategic focus. A Project manager (if included) will spend the majority of the time on-site and a senior partner at Outsights will be involved in all decision-making sessions. The project manager and partner consultant will be involved for the entire contract period, or until the environment matures up to 12 months (in case there are delays caused by outside factors). Our services are provided acting almost as a "virtual headcount." While we do outline specific objectives, the approach we adopt is more organizationally focused as opposed to the project option that is more project-focused.

The project approach assumes a leader in the customer organization will dedicate themselves to learning the ISN^SM principles, will take action and manage the work throughout the initial start-up period. The organizational leader cannot be involved peripherally or as a figurehead. A background in Knowledge Management, systems thinking, and games theory would be very helpful for someone in this role. Outsights will not spend extensive time on-site but will provide the direction, guides and templates that define the operational framework. A Project manager (if included) will spend the majority of the time on-site and a senior partner at Outsights will be involved in all decision-making sessions. Our services are provided within a predetermined scope with finite objectives and engage only at a project level.

For either option, customers have the choice to add in an Outsights project manager to keep track of all the project details. Roles and responsibilities are negotiable; however, some customers prefer to bring in a consultant/project manager because of resource constraints or resource knowledge.
